Wheatfields is a development of 30 new homes including bungalows, apartments and houses being
developed for Onward Housing in Whitefield, Manchester.

The development is being built on the site of a former nursery school and is situated at the end of a
short cul-de-sac leading to managed bungalows for retirement living and a school.

Works began on site at the beginning of August 2023 and the Considerate Constructor Team have
recently completed their second inspection, recognising the site as excellent for:

  • Respecting the community
  • Caring for the environment
  • Valuing our workforce

With an overall score of 42 out of 45.

The Inspector praised the positive visual effect of the site, including touches such as seasonal plants,
along with a good working relationship with the client, Onward Homes.

The social value being delivered from this development is something that we are exceptionally
proud of, along with the strong relationships we have developed with the local school, church, and
the general community. The Inspector has noted the positive impact of our support for the local
foodbank, the local church – particularly the Christmas efforts to provide food for the homeless.

The Inspector has highlighted the first-class practices and procedures to care for the environment
including the positive carbon reduction and waste reduction.

Feedback from the report highlights the following as excellent practice.
