Background

Stephen has worked in the Construction sector since 2004, however his career journey began within the Regular Army, whom he served for seven years.

Following his military service, Stephen pursued a career in the Groundworks sector of the Construction industry, where he gained skills in site clearance, set up, foundations, drainage and general safety. He continued this role for ten years.

In 2014, Stephen’s career progressed further, when he took on the role of Site Manager at John Southworth, the skills from his previous position playing a key role in his development.

With a diverse range of skills developed in both groundwork and site management, Stephen was the first Site Manager to oversee the development of John Southworth’s first true Net Zero Carbon development, which was also certified to Passivhaus standards.

Projects

  • Victoria Avenue, a development for Great Places Housing Group of 25 timber frame houses, built to Future Homes Standard in Blackley, Manchester.
  • Mayton Street, a development for One Manchester in Openshaw, Manchester, consisting of 22 new build houses, built to Future Homes standards.
  • Blackrock Street, our first Net Zero Carbon development for One Manchester in Openshaw, Manchester, consisting of 22 new build houses built to Future Homes standards.
  • Dean Close, a development for Bolton at Home, consisting of 10 bungalows and 3 houses, following a traditional construction method.
