When we say we are Building Futures Today – that’s something that is at the core of how we operate at John Southworth. The future is something that we can’t control, but we can help our generation to be as ethical as we can and ensure our legacy for the future is a positive one.
We are really proud to be working collaboratively with our partners to deliver sustainable, green developments that enhance the region and work seamlessly with the existing neighbourhoods.
- We delivered the first Passivhaus social housing development in 2019
- We installed solar battery PV as part of a new build development of 10 apartments as part of European renewable study in 2020.
- We have developed the very first Nett zero carbon social housing development in the country completed in 2021.
Our Nett zero Development with One Manchester at Blackrock Street has been recognised as an exemplary scheme with the green building council, meeting future industry standards whilst designing adaptable and high-quality homes at affordable costs.
Steven Brown, MD at John Southworth says, “With increasing energy costs and fossil fuels running out, we are proud to have a solution to building and delivering greener homes. Our development at Blackrock street is recognised in the industry as best practice in achieving Nett zero carbon and as an organisation committed to building futures we continue to learn from industry best practice and innovation and implement this in our work.”
