Skillset

Derrick has worked in the Construction sector since leaving school.

Having gained his City & Guilds qualification in carpentry and joinery, his career journey began as a Bench Hand Joiner; later progressing onto construction sites undertaking refurbishments, heritage and commercial projects.

Derrick has held the role of Site Manager for over thirty years managing small, medium and large-scale construction projects, covering commercial and residential developments. Derrick has a natural ability to lead and develop strong working relationships at all levels, which he does whilst consistently delivering his projects on time and on budget.

Derrick is our Ambassador of Training and Development providing on-site placement opportunities and mentoring our Trainee Site Managers.

Projects

  • Oakwood Lodge, a development of 20 energy-efficient new build, timber frame houses for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
  • Davenshaw Mill, a development of 9 walk-up apartments, traditional construction, for Jigsaw Homes in Congleton, Cheshire.
  • Silver Birches, a development of 60 mews houses for private ownership for Jones Homes in Denton, Manchester.
  • Green Street, a development of 16 energy efficient newbuild properties, consisting of 8 houses and 6 apartments for The Regenda Group in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
  • Salford Quays, Quayside Shopping Mall (formerly The Lowry Outlet Mall), a large outlet mall development, including apartments, built in the regenerated docklands of Salford Quays, Salford.
